Medium Logo Mark & Wordmark Redesign
Medium is an open platform where readers find dynamic thinking, and where expert and undiscovered voices can share their writing on any topic. They were established in 2012 and updated their logo 4 times already. In 2020 they moved away with the ‘M’ all together and now sporting a logo that is created by three elliptical shapes of varying widths.
At first glance new logo looks very modern but social media didn't quiet accepted this change. Also people recognized that it is looking extremely similar to BEEHOME's logo.
I was looking forward to updating this logo for a while and and now finalized the work. I wanted to go back to M monogram but this time, with a twist.. pervious M monograms were not special and didnt have any hidden message. As Medium is a place where all writers find a home, I wanted to emphasize typing on the monogram.. So as the left part of the M, I used a "Type Icon". Some of you may not know this icon so just google "type icon" or write anything on Word, and you will see it.
I personally liked the outcome alot but wanna hear your thoughts on the new monogram mark. Please share your opinions (positive / negative) in the comments below..
